Hi All,
I got a Top2048 and I'm trying to program a DS89C430. However it is failing to program. When I click the program button, it tells me this: "Bad Type, Continue?" If I click yes, it seems to program, but fails the verification. Any suggestions?
Thanks, J Silverman |

Also, I'm using the most recent version of the TopWin software, v2.33.
Thanks |

I see this over and over in these groups and I think I know the answer this error is when the software is not set to program your specific chip on the tool buttons there is something that says something to the effect of "type" and if you click on that it will give you a dialog box that has the manufactures in one list and the chip type in another list. be sure you have the correct ones selected example pic16f674 will not work for a pic16f674A if your chip is not listed it's anyones guesss if something close will match well enough not to cause problems also the program uses this setting to test pins so if you get an error that says bad pins 1,12,14 (any combination of bad pins) chances are this setting is incorrect. Peace Out |
