So i need to program some 27sf512 chips for my car, so I borrowed a friends Willem that he bought years ago for the same purpose but never used.

It's a dual-power but I have no clue which model (need to copy and paste this due to site hotlinking and uploading restrictions)

I've searched through many topics and still can't get this thing working!

I just assembled a Win XP SP2 box with a fresh install so I could have a parallel port.

I've tried using the 0.98D5, 0.97ja, 0.97g software and all gave the same Hardware Error: Check Power & Connection when I try to test hardware under the help menu.

My BIOS has options for SPP, EPP1.9+SPP, EPP1.9+ECP, ECP, EPP1.7+SPP, and EPP1.7+ECP

In device manager, the LPT is set to "use any interrupt assigned to the port" and has legacy plug-and-play enabled.

What combination of port settings and program versions should I be using, and is there anything else I can check that may be preventing the programmer from being recognized?

Thanks

all three lights come on when the parallel cable and ac adapter are plugged in.

Your cable may have problem.

The simplest way is to buy a GQ-4X.

the cable is brand new as of yesterday, I'll bust out the multimeter and check it for continuity.
