Posted - 11/16/2011 : 01:26:29 Tried two different chips, same error, I'm using the ADP-054 adapter, the chip is inserted correctly at bottom of the larger zif socket and verified blank before programming. After failed write the following reads back from both chips;

Posted - 11/28/2011 : 16:54:00 Solder bridge removed and now it appears to be reading the ROM correctly with the correct checksum. I will test writing a ROM tonight and make sure it works. |

Posted - 11/23/2011 : 16:40:01 From picture I can see there is a little amount of solder between two pins.
It should be very easy to remove it. If you do not have soldering iron, then you can just use a screw driver tip to remove it.
I do not think you need to go through the Paypal to claim. That will make the thing be complex and more time delay.
Try to remove the extra solder, if it still does not work, then write to support@mcumall.com |

Posted - 11/21/2011 : 13:53:52 I didn't mean 27c800, it's a 27c64, my mistake. It does however show that the adapter is faulty. I don't have a desoldering tool otherwise I could try and remove this solder bridge. How do I get this replaced with one that's been tested working ? I bought this through your ebay listing, should I just raise a paypal claim since it's faulty ? Maybe your QA is failing and should test boards before shipping them out. Posted - 11/21/2011 : 11:55:56 There is no way to read " 27c800 directly on the GQ-4X " without adapter.
It seems there are some pin contacting problems.
If you found " bridged solder joint ", try to remove it and see if it makes different.

Posted - 11/21/2011 : 05:03:11 Thank you for your response. I have tried just reading to help diagnose the problem first. reading a 27c800 directly on the GQ-4X is fine, the file CRC32 is correct.
reading a mx27c4100 using the ADP-054 adapter produces partially readable results, for example;
You can make out the ASCI that says; AOIGA VOO Opgvaving Wywvgo It should probably read; AMIGA ROM Operating System
I have inspected the adapter closely, and it appears there is a bridged solder joint on the ADP-054 between pins 16 and 17, is this normal ? If this is a defect, how do I get this adapter replaced ? Can this damage the programmer also ?

Posted - 11/19/2011 : 21:25:41 The USB power is fine. Check your chip contacting.
Try on V3 and V4 jumper to see if anything different.

Posted - 11/16/2011 : 01:50:44 Just confirming that I didn't have a 9v power supply, just plugged in via USB on the macbook air 13" Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong, I have no idea what the various jumpers are on the ADP-054 Adapter. |
