I have burned two eproms for a Bosch Motronic ECU for my car. But the car won't start at all. The eproms are M27C512-15F6 and M87C257-12F1. They are brand new chips and the files are known to be good. I used GQ-2x to program. It verified. I did not use an AC adapter. Can my USB port generate enough voltage to burn this chip? What else can I try to get it to work?

What model of car is this for?
I've seen similar troubles with BMWs that use EWS security. It will either need to be disabled or the codes copied from the original chip over to the new one for the car to be able to start.

If the chip is verified, then it should be programmed correctly.
The USB port power should be fine to program those chips.

You can verify the chip again on the programmer after your car does not start. If chip still be verified, then check something else. Make sure the data file is correct. The best way is to find a working chip and copy it.
