Hey, even 5 years after the original post, your reply came in handy! I found the chip on a pcb in a device I busted into, and I couldn't find what it was. Thanks again!

I understand this post is 5 years old now, but it's one of the first results that comes up on Google when you search for ATMLH802's. I figured I would add some information regarding the identification of these parts for future reference, should anyone ever need it.

The ATMLH802's (and many other similar ICs) are ATMEL EEPROMs. There is a second 3 character code that follows the ATML**** that is the truncated part number.
For example (taken from Atmel's datasheet):

As etched on IC:

   |---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
     A   T   M   L   H   Y   W   W
   |---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
     0   2   B       1
   |---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
     *   Lot Number
   |---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
     |
    Pin 1 Indicator (Dot)
H = Material Set
Y = Seal Year
WW = Seal Week
02B = Device
1 = Voltage Indicator
*Lot Number to Use ALL Characters in Marking

As you can see, the second string of characters is the truncated part. Append Atmel's AT24C (EEPROM Part Prefix) to the device code (02B) and you get the complete part number!
