long story short trying to fix an old computer of mine. At start up was given an error of bad bios checksum error. Tried resetting via jumper cables, nothing, replaced battery, nothing. Looked it up and it said the actual BIOS chip was corrupt and I would need a new flashed one. The mobo manufacture is out of business (Soltek). Looked at buying a new flashed chip and everyone charges online about what a programer costs. Figured why not learn something new and bought myself a PCB5.0 willem programer.

Hooked it up to an old ThinkPad T21 and just couldn't get it to work for the life of me. Searched online and changed settings in BIOS and registry changes, the whole works, as was suggested. Always given the error to check the hardware/power.

Found another old Laptop (an old Vio running Windows 2000 Professional) and got it to connect. Read the chip and erased it just fine, The problem is I can't seem to write to it. I try to write to it and I get a Error at 0x000000 Chip = 0x00. Is there something I'm missing here? Or is the chip just plain dead? If so, where would I actually be able to find one? It's a Winbond W49V002AP
