Hello,

Today I didn't manage to write on eprom M27C801 whereas it worked well last time I used my GQ-4X.

I tried to write on other M27C801 eproms, to erase them again before writing. I tried to change USB cable, I tried with another PC, I tried with other eprom references and each time I get the same error message : adress=0x008000 buffer=0x04 eprom=0x00
I also ran the voltage diagnostic and the results were ok.

Do you have any idea of what is wrong ?

Your EPROM is too old. It may not last long time.

I finally managed to write on the EPROMs after erasing them for more than two hours. I don't understand why because when the writing failed, the blank test was passed with less than one hour of erasing

Thank you for your answer. I erased the chip and it passed the blank test, but I get the same error message.

When you said to check pin corresponding to A15, does it means checking that this pin is not oxidized ?

Thanks again for your support.

The chip need to be erased and pass he blank check before write new data. Also, you should be able to get correct chip ID.

Check the pin contacting on A15. See datasheet for the exact pin number.
