Today I got the GQ-4X Programmer. I have a good data chip (AM27C020) that I need to copy. I placed the chip in the burner (selected my chip), and did a chip read. Then I saved the data as a .BIN file. I then put in my new chip (selected my chip)and did a blank check - (OK). I then did a write. It wrote and verified but when I try it in my motherboard I get nothing. What am I missing? I've tried writing to several chips and the same thing happens. All pass the blank chip test before burning.

If you known the good checksum, then the programmed chip must be same checksum.

Select the device type and then read the orginal chip.

When I read my original chip I get a good checksum. When I put in the blank chip and change the device type, the checksum changes and I get a bad burn. I was able to get 2 good burns out of about 12 chips. What might be the problem with the bad checksums?

Are you sure your original chip is working?

I think the data is not read correctly. Make multiple read and make sure all checksums are the same, then save it.

Also, try to use slowest speed and/or an external power if the original chip is a old chip.
