I'm getting a bit confused as to the jumper settings and voltages I should use with these 3 different chips. I have a PRG-002/3081 Dual Power Willem Universal programmer.

I'm matching the dip switches, J1 and J2, PCB3 with the software (.97ja) however I don't remember what the voltage settings should be with J6 and J7.

Do I ever need to put any jumpers on J5? There are none currently there.

And finally do I ever need to change the voltage from 5volts to 5.6 volts?

The big issue I'm having is when I try to program a 27256 (after verified being blank) I get the error message:
Error at 0x000000 Chip = 0xFF buffer=0xFE
When I check blank again, it's still blank. Any ideas with this?

I have J6 set on the top 2 pins, and J7 set on the bottom 2.

If your chip is NMOS EPROM such as 27256, then you may want to put jumper on J5 to change the VCC voltage. But this need a external power supply, not the USB power. The default is 5V(no jumper).

The 27256 vpp jumper setting J6,J7 should set on 12.7V position. (J6 set on the top 2 pins, and J7 set on the bottom 2)

Check your DIP settings.
Change to another chip to confirm it is not the chip problem.

Most of 2732 and 2716 use 21V or 25V vpp. So, please do not use higher vpp on a lower vpp device. It will destroy the chip.
