Hi, I bought this programmer form you. I am trying to program a 12F629 PICs. I am going thru my Laptop with a USB-Serial Adapter. I heard it is not compatible because not enough voltage. However, I saw on the item's description, you can use an external Vpp input port, this programmer works almost on all computers, even on the low voltage serial port, such as some laptop.

Is it possible to rig this so it will work with my USB-Serial cable?

No. The programemr does not work on USB-Serial adapter. It only works on standard RS232 port. That because the software directly talks with RS232 port address, not the USB port.
