Hi, I'm not saying that gqblaster does it wrong.
I have read that you have a TNM5000, it would be nice to know if other programmers treat the bad blocks in the same way.
When reading a chip and seeing the table of bad blocks there are many blocks damaged. This is not true because many embedded systems use the OOB area to save data referring to the file system, ECC, etc.
So if we check the data only in the spare area I think it is not the right thing to do.
I think about cloning the k9gag08u0e has generated a lot of confusion because everyone, myself included, tried to clone a file not quite valid. I think the file "correct" is Eduardo48 with whom we tried to correct the sectors marked as bad blocks and the results were good.
My intention is to help improve this product thinking also in other memories because the use of nand goes for long.
That's why I think that Gqblaster should work more "universal" and not with algorithms dedicated to a single memory.
I'm taking care of your health GQ5XSupport ...Lol...(it's a joke).

I´m from Argentina, my English is not good enough.
Regards
Marcos.

Marcos, can you leave some contact information? Page is talking about "Initial Invalid Block". This means the chip is from factory. This information can be erased.
That is why in 1.09 you can specify the start block to avoid messing with this info.

Hi, I understand what you say, but perhaps the way Gqblaster has to deal with bad blocks makes the data unreliable.
I just took the hex editor and made a file from 0x00 to 0x88A7D7FF.
Load the file in Gqblaster. No bad block.
I then set any value other than 0xFF from 0x00 to 0x21B4.
Load the file in Gqblaster. One bad block.
On page 15 of the k9gag08u0e datasheet shows how bad blocks should be treated.
If I understand correctly, they do not use the OOB area.

Regards
Marcos.

[br]Hi everybody, Find a little problem with the K9GAG08U0E.
Gqblaster does not handle bad blocks according to the datasheet.
If you fill from 0x00 to 0x21B4 with any value other than 0xFF it marks it as a bad block.
I suppose that this failure can generate problems with the reliability of the data.
Could someone check it?

Marcos.

Can you upload a sample file?
The program should search the OOB data and if it is not 0xFF then it is bad block. In this case the OOB data starts from 0x2000.
