I have (what appears to be) a blank TI TMS27C512 EPROM. If I fill the buffer with FF or 00, the GQ-2X Re-1 programmer has all 3 LEDs come on and appears to write/verify to the chip fine. A read of the buffer shows all zeros regardless. A Blank check shows errors at buffer 3, but the buffer read shows all zeros. If I load the buffer with data and try to write to the chip, I get the message (obviously an error in that as well):

Wriete Error
Device write failed at address: 0x000001, Buffer=0x03 Device=0x00

I have tried writing at all speeds, disabling the verify button (which does not seem to stop the checksum of the write routine), and now I am wondering if I have either a defective chip or a defective Willem USB programmer. I don't have a second chip to test with, but since I did somehow get the original data erased from this chip by writing all zeros with the programmer, I suspect the board.

hi,
It seems you did not erase the chip before write.
You need a UV eraser to erase the chip.
