Hi all there,
I'm a newbie experimenting troubles.

I'm doing a beta tester sessions for a firmware upgrade, so i need to erase/rewrite several time a code on an EEprom.

I've successfully wrote Eproms in past for the same machine, but this time i've decided to try using a EEprom to save money and time in erasing.

My setup:
WIllem programmer PCB3
Willem software 0.97ja
ATMEL 28C256 EEprom.

In device menu:
if i choose EEPROM>28Cxxx>28C256 the programmer reads and write the code on ATMEL 28C256, but the code itself isn't working once fitted in the machine, furthermore, the same code written on a 27C256 Eprom works flawess.

In device menu:
if I choose EEPROM>AT28CXX>AT28C256> the software shows "Cannot erase this device"
The programmer reads and write the chip but once again the code isn't working on the machine.

I've tried several different AMTEL 28C256 chips, but all them behave the same.

Where am I making mistakes?
ARe we sure that 27C256 and AT28C256 are full compatible?

Thanks a lot,
Sandrow

28C256 is EEPROM. It does not need to be erased before write.
