trying to upgrade my cars level of opions to include level 3 cluster, so want to know befor i go unsoldering anything, does anyone know what chip the odometer reading is held on ? i need to carry over my cars original ks, the unit was made by VDO, has 3 sepperate digital read outs including trip computor, any one from australia would know this vehicle well, very common here. any tips on how to find the chip greatly appretiated.

different car uses different EEPROM. Such as 93C46, 93C66 etc.

im thinking it is held on the x24c44p chip, but have been told this chip is unsupported on the GQ-3X that i have.

any one know or suggest what will be needed to read/write to this chip. software/hardware ???
