Is there anybody who have sucessfully programmed a 27256 EPROM using the TOP 2049 programmer? I have tried 4 different brands of 27256 and 2 operating systems (Windows XP SP2 and Windows ME) without luck. The programmer never gets past address 0x378 where it stops with:

000378:Error! (file=61,chip=ff)

indicating a mismatch at that address. The programming voltage seems to reach the 12.5 Volts required for the EPROM's I've tested so I'm suspecting that the timing is wrong somehow. Is there anybody here who've looked into this problem in more detail or is the best bet to stay away from the TOP series programmers?

Thanks for the reply ZLM. I have returned the programmer to get it exchanged. I'll let you know if that fixes the problem.

As ZLM has stated elsewhere in this forum, all the newer TOP-programmers currently seem unable to program 27-series EPROMs (NMOS and CMOS alike, it seems). I hope it's a software problem so they can fix it but I have returned my TOP2049 in exchange for a product from a different manufacturer.

We recently received more failure reports on different model of TOP programmer programming 27XXX EPROM. So, most likely there are bugs in software.

I'm seeing it on a TOP 2007 with various 27xxx EPROMs - nothing new here I know. Does anyone know the best way to track if this is getting fixed (and whether it is a software problem)?

Will it be posted to this forum or do you know if there is a url I can use to keep an eye on any progress that is being made (and download an update perhaps)?
