i have recently bought a new adapter (plcc 44 to dip 40) for easy pro L+. i am using Atmel AT27c4096 chip in plcc package. when i try to read it the programmer says poor contact on pin no 1, 21-40. i have re soldered the pins of adapter and still i get the message. i have checked continuity between plcc socket and adapter dip pins. it seems to be ok. the programmer seems to be ok as it is working fine on other chips. then where is the problem? plesae help me

For this adapter, you have to select AT27C4096 device type from the software. NOT the AT27C4096@PLCC44

dear ZLM,

thanks for replying. I have tried this option as well but still it says the same message on poor contacts, i have another adapter plcc32 to dip 32, it works fine on the programmer. some how programmer seems to be Ok, even the chip is OK since it works fine when placed in an equipment. the adapter shows continuity on all pins. Then what is wrong? I fail to understand!

If the chip can be verified. then it should be fine to ignore the message. May be software bug related.

dear ZLM,

the chip verification fails.

also this adapter fails to read the AT27c4096 on other programmers such as labtool, but it shows continuity between pins and plcc socket. regards

The jumpers on the adapter should be able to swap those pins.
