I don't know why my 2 last message was deleted so I post it again. Also i have troubles to connect to the website last days.
So as i was saying in my message, i'm new to EPROM programing world and i need to reflash a broken BIOS with PLCC32 soldered chip onto a laptop motherboard. I could unsoldder it but in the meantime i've discovered there exists some test clip devices like this one:
hxxp://www.alliedelec.com/search/productdetail.aspx?SKU=8855733
or maybe this I'm not sure hxxps://www1.elfa.se/elfa3/elfa/init.do?item=48-123-41&toc=20471&name=ic_test_socket,_open-top,_plcc_32
So the question is simple, does this PLCC32 adapter could be used to connect with a Willem EPROM burner? I see how it could be connected to the 32 pins of the eprom on the board, but what about the connection to the burner of the other side?

No.

The PLCC32 BIOS chip is not designed for programming in circuit by an external programmer.

So, you need to remove the chip and put it on the programmer to program it.

The adapter used is based on the chip part number. So, check the software and see which adapter is needed.

Damn, that's bad news for me :(

I've already ordered the Pomona test clip adapter and will receive it soon. I'll try it with an ASUS TRSA mainboard (from a Toshiba Satellite L40-12K laptop).

Judging by what you are saying, I suspect that I will probably fail in my task. But I still want to try.

I want to see it with my own eyes before I declare myself defeated!

The 8 pin SPI BIOS may be able to do the in circuit programming.

Confirmed: it does not work :(

I have connected the Pomona PLCC32 adapter to my GQ-4X programmer. The programmer is able to READ the chip successfully. But fails at WRITE :(

Now I have to desolder the chip!

Some BIOS chips are hardwired to protect the chip.
