Hello

I bought on ebay an "Enhanced Universal Willem EPROM Programmer ZIF PLCC FWH" This is the exact model

Today I tried to get it working and with the first chip I used to reprogram (a Firmware Hub Intel 82802AB chip) I'm getting an error "Vpp Range Error". Does anyone have an idea to solve this problem? or to get more information regarding the use and troubleshooting with this Enhanced programmer?

I instaled the downloaded driver (parallel port IO driver), reboot, instaled the software (epr097g), turn of PC, connected cables (ECP+EPP bios configured), put Intel chip in the lower FW HLPC socket, turn on PC, started EpromM51 program, changed it to PCB3, configured it to Intel 82802AB, in help tested hardware and result was "hardware Present", tried to read the chip and result was OK, loaded a new bios code (xxx-bin) and tried to reprogram the chip with it and got "Vpp Range Error" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any idea??

Thanks

Try to get ID before do anything else. If ID is correct then you need check the Vpp if it is presented correctly. If you are sure your setting is correct, then the programmer board may be defective on Vpp.

I get the ID correct, more exactly - Manufacture: 0x89 Intel Device code: 82802AB -

I can read the chip content, no problem at all!

What is the correct value of Vpp to erase and program this Intel FWH N82802AB chip? And how can I mesure/verify it?

Thanks

Check the datasheet of N82802AB for Vpp. Use a multimeter to measure the ZIF pin 1 and pin 16 when you checked the Vpp in the software Test H/W page.
