Just bought a brand new shiny GQ4x4 and tried to burn an EPROM.

Failed!

Ok, it's a 2716 so I tried an external power supply as that's what the help file suggested.

Failed!

Tried a batch of 2716 EPROMs, some virgin and some freshly erased.

Failed!

OK, try burning a file to a different EPROM type. Tried a 27C128.

Failed!

Nothing I do can write a file to an EPROM. I tried the eproms in a different programmer and they all seem to behave.

Additionally, when I try to read a pre-programmed chip, one that I know is good and I have a copy of the hexdump for, the GQ4x4 can't even seem to read the chip and then verify it consistently. Multiple reads often result in different checksums when the chip is read.

What do I need to do to burn a simple little 2k file to a 2716 25v chip with this programmer?!

Purchased from Amazon - serial number is unique. Using latest USB driver and software version from MCUMall.

Hardware test is ok?
