I am just now playing with my new gq5x. What I am trying to do is copy an existing chip from a good board and copy to a new chip. What I am finding out is my copies do not work. I have cleaned all the chip leads. Sometimes I do not get anything but all ffff. It looks like this is a bit more complicated that coping a serial eeprom. The chip that I am trying to get a bin from is a Samsung k9f1g08u0b pibo. I am new to this so please be patient.

The programmer has no problem.

The problem is the nature of the NAND flash chip.

The NAND flash chip works like a hard drive. It has many bad blocks. The OS will take care the bad blocks by formatting hard disc.

When doing exact chip copy, an original good block data way write on a bad blocks on an new chip. That causes the new chip does not work.

So, in this case, you may need to write another new chip. if the new chip has bad block location avoided data to write, then the copied new chip will work.

Always use original new chips.
