Got a brand new GQ-4x4. Got the correct driver installed for my Win7 64bit. Installed the USBPrg no problem. Got a M27C800 in the 16bit adapter. Everything checked fine in the program. Did an initial read (blank), did a blank check (blank). Loaded a bin to write. Write went to 78% and froze. Canceled. Tried a new read. Progress bar showed no progress. Canceled. Tried a new M27C800. Chip recognized no problem. Tried a read on the new chip, progress bar showed no progress. Canceled, then USBPrg went unresponsive. Closed USBPrg. Uninstalled and reinstalled USBPrg. Opened USBPrg. Chip recognized no problem. Tried initial read. Progress bar frozen again no reaction.

Any ideas?

I recently had the same issue, multiple chips hanging midstream.

I changed the Device setup information from the one specifically called out for that chip and manufacturer to a generic setup for that chip type and it all went smoothly after that.

Something to try anyway.

What was the difference between the two device lines?

Also curious.

You do not need to reinstall the software. You can try to disconnect the programmer and software, and then restart again.

Try followings:
1. change to another USB cable.
2. remove the chip and do read, blank check and then write. This will chip is the software working correctly.
3. if the software works good without the chip, then you may need to check if the chips are good chips.
