It is actually a AT89S825224PI, I am using the dual power programmer, and when i read the chip it appears to be blank. I know the chip cannot be blank due to it functions in the device. It is also doing the same thing with a AT89C5224PC chip. I did take a blank AT89S8252 chip and program some random values on it, clear the buffer, then read the chip and it did read those values. Any idea on what is going on. I am using the MCS-51 adapter

I too am having trouble trying to get this chip to ID with this adapter I've pulled the datasheet, and am wondering how to set the jumper on the adapter to get it to read or if I need to short some pins to get it to read the ID. here is the datasheet h**p://www.hit-karlsruhe.de/hit-mic/projekte/drehanzeige/data/Datenblatt%20AT89s8252.pdf

The adapter is standard Willem MCS-51 adapter, so it works on Dual Power.

Can you get the ID of the chip? That is the first step to working on the chip.

ADP-015 MCS-51+/51AVR+/scriptT89+ w/PLCC44 adapter

For Standard/Enhanced/True-USB Willem programmer
The adapter has build-in onboard a PLCC44 adapter, it's handy for the the PLCC44 chips.
Device supportedAtmel:
AT89C51,52,55 , AT89LV51,52,55, AT89S8252 (8K+2K) ,AT89S8253 (12K+2K), AT89S51, AT89S52, AT89S53, AT89LS8252,AT89LS53 AT89C1051,AT89C2051,AT89C4051 (20pin)AT89C51RC (32KB), AT89C55WD (6.2V)SST89C54/58, SI89C52
Intel:i87C51, i87C51FA, i87C51FBi8xC51,i8xC52,i8xC54,i8xC58
AVR AT90 series:AT90S1200,AT90S2313

Now what I am also wondering is this adapter compatible with my Dual power Willem Programmer?

One thing that it also does is say the chip was successfully read, even though there is not a chip installed.

The MCS-51 adapter seems not a correct adapter. Check the supported list of MCS-51 .
