Those bizarre characters are non-English characters. It does not affect the function of software. The English patch supposed to fixed this kind of issues. But currently has no patch for this version.

I've downloaded the newest version 1.43 and ok now. But this English version still has some bizarre characters when I load file, and select file type bin, hex, or jed... There are some bizarre characters next to word bin, hex, or jed.

It should be *bin binary, *hex Intel Hex, or *jed PLD instead

This is not in early version which comes with the CD with English patch when I bought the TOP048

What version of software you are using? You may try latest software from http://www.ty51.com/soft.htm
