Just got a dual power, and cannot follow instructions as there are NO PORTS in my device manager to click on. I have no serial or printer ports currently defined on this computer. I installed the USB driver and restarted, but nothing. Plugging the programmer into the USB port shows power, but I get no "new hardware found" and cannot talk to the programmer.

Please help this newbie!

Thanks!

Yes.

The software works with WIN95, WIN98, Win2000, WinXp and LPT port only.

The programmer does not work with USB port. regardless of windows type.

Thanks...I'll break out the WIN98 machine.

Does it work with WIN95? I have several laptops with WIN95 and an LPT port?

The parallel programmer does not work with USB-Parallel adapter. I only works on LPT port of a computer directly.
If you only have USB port, then you can go GQ-3X or GQ-4X.

...To add to the confusion, The driver for the system is called a USB to SERIAL driver, yet the instructions say to connect the 25 pin port to the printer port??? Since I have no printer ports, I am using a USB to Parallel adapter. Should I be using a USB to serial adapter and plug that into the 25 pin port? OR... does the USB port do it all?? When I plug in the USB and Parallel ports, I get all three LED's on. When just the USB OR just the parallel port adapter, I get the yellow LED only.

I'm confused!
