Hi, I'm very new to eproms and programmers.

I bought a programmer from ebay and I want to program 27C801 chips, but since right now I don't have any, I just want to test if the programmer is working ok. Here is a photo of my programmer:

54.18 KB

So, in order to test, I went to "Test H/W" tab and set the programmer switches like the picture below shows:

51.29 KB

But if I click on Help > Test Hardware, I get this error: "Hardware Error: Check power & connection". I have connected the USB and DB-25 parallel ports.

Does this mean it's defective or what am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Stupid me. I read the manual in the morning telling me to change BIOS setting for LPT but totally forgot that in the afternoon, when I actually had time to test.
