Just purchased Dual Powered Willem Standard Programmer. Has not arived yet but downloaded newest software to look at. One thing I noticed after loading a bin file was that there seems to be no way to search the buffer for a string to find it's memory location. Does anyone know of a way to do this?

No. There are no searching feature in the software.

You can use othe binary/hex editor to search a strng in the binary.

There are lot of hex editors you can download from internet. Just looking for freeware.
