Great site!
I would like to get help with trying to program the EFI chip on a MacBook Pros logic board. I am tying to erase and then program a non corrupt bios .bin file to the chip while its soldered to the board. The problem is the Mac will not boot so my hope is to correct the issue with a clean install of the efi or bios. I have a GQ-4x and the chip that apple uses is a MX25L3205D. I have been able to read the chip on a couple boards but I cannot erase or write to them. The programmer gives me a error when I try to id the chip. I pulled the data pdf from online and it looks like I should connect 1-CS 2-SO/sio 4-grnd 6-clk 5-si.
But no matter how i connect things I still get errors. Do I need an external power supply to power the chip? Any help would be great.

You do not need an external power. The USB power is good enough.

Are you using adapter or just a DIP chip?

Check followings:

1. adapter must be pin-pin converstion
2. all pins have no contacting problem.
3. chip orientation
4. make sure the chip is a good chip.
