It may not be 27C512.

Use ID button to check the chip ID. It will report what is this chip.

Hi ZLM
just out of curiosity, i have tried this function "ID" on a 93S46 chip and it says "function not available for this device"
i have also tried it on other eproms like 24C04...etc and it says the same, is that normal ? is this function only available for certain chips ?
Thanks

Most of small 8 pin EEPROM chips have no ID. So, you are unable to ID those chips. Such as 93S46 and 24C04

if it is eprom, it needs to be UV erased, before write.
the image shows an erase window on top of the chip?

yes. All erasable EPROM has a glass window on top. Unless the chip is plastic and OTP chip, then is has no Window on top.
