Just got the unit today. I can't program the 1st chip I tried which is an SST49LF004A.

I am an advanced programmer and have been programming chips since 1999 using ARLabs and Xeltek programmers.

Is there a manual for the ADP-030? There are 2 jumpers and I don't know if I need to do anything with them. I see nothing in the users manual.

When I plug in the chip it is not recognizing it as an SST49LF004A. It goes through the motions when I ask it to erase, but the blank check fails. I've re-seated the chip, double checked orientation, wiggled the adapter, nothing. I've tried multiple chips.

Any help?

I also tried an SST29EE020, no adapter. Same thing. The device is not recognized. When programming is forced, it doesn't program correctly.

Since you have two chips, try to get the SST29EE020 to work.

The first thing is to get the correct ID of SST29EE020. If not, then check the pin contact, when locking the chip, try to push the chip little bit left-right. This will help on pin contact.

Already did that. All it does with the 29EE020 is to come back with 0808 inmos unknown device.

Is there some sort of diagnostic to run? I am plugged right in the the computer usb port but am not using an external power supply.

What else?

So that's it? If wiggling doesn't work there is nothing to be done?
Who do I contact to get an RMA?

I tried Windbond 25X80 and 25X16 and both worked. Very odd.
