Hi Everyone,
I am working on it for past two days, and no results.
Working on macbook retina 15inch, i removed MX25L6406E , install in programmer id check, read it , verify and save. Easy and i think everything is ok.
I removed the MX25L6406E, installed another MX25L6406E,id check, erase , blank check, write and verify . Looks ok . When i solder it back to logic board , computer turn on but no image on the screen, i mean only cpu getting hot. When i solder the orginal it is working.

I tried change the write speed, i repeat everything maybe 10 time always same result. NO clue what i am doing wrong.

I found another logic bord exactly the same just different bios 25Q064A,always getting id check error, in device i can not find exactly this part number. So i used W25Q64, and W25Q64CV.
i tried both , save bios from orginal and write to another chip.

Exactly same situation where computer work only with the orginal , the copy i make never work .

Any idea what i am doing wrong?

thanks a lot

It may be related to 512 bit secured OTPfor unique identifier. This is a special feature of this chip. This sector stores some security data and is not accessable by programmer if it is enabled the security.

it is possible to read the OPT chip. As long as the software support this feature.

If You still have the problem at hand, try to change the algoritm of the chip from W25X10_FAST to W25X10 in the devices.txt file. See if it helps.
