Hi,
I'm trying to program a PIC18F26J50.
I have a GQ4X older programmer.
H/W Re: GQ-4X Re-2.20(SW Re. 6.38)
USB Driver Re.2.0
Software Re. 6.38
I am unsure of the entry in the device.txt file to add for this.
I copied the one for the PIC18F26K20.
I get an ID check failed ("29FFFF") after trying to read or write to the chip and the software hangs after which I have to close the application and unplug the programmer.
This is the entry in the device.txt file
Name="PIC18F26J50*DIP28",ID="XXXX",Class="PIC18F2XXX_4XXX",Category="MCU",MFG="Microchip",Package="DIP28",VPP="9V",VCC="3.6V",WVPP="9V",WVCC="3.6V",Platform="GQ-4X (>Re1.30)",PINVCC="ZIF32_PIN28";
Any help you can give me is appreciated.

Thanks,

Ed

This chip is not supported on GQ-4X.

It will be supported on GQ-4x4.

Will it be added to the devices list in the next release?
