Posted - 03/15/2006 : 11:28:17 TOP supports 74XXX testing and auto detecting. I'm using this feature almost every day to detect the part number of the unknow chip.
For your case, I think the software may not load the logic library. You need exit and restart the software. If the software loaded the library, you can see the list of those chip at the left side of window. |

Posted - 03/15/2006 : 10:03:45 TopWin TOP2005 does not support 74 series testing. Try inputting 74XX where XX would be any of the standards i.e. 7400, 74LS, 74HC..... when you do this you will notice the choices are nil...none
I believe that they, meaning TOP are lying and have lied concerning the capabilities and functionality of their programmers.
They are obviously unworkable on the XP platform.

I'm not that bothered since I don't really need that feature - just kind of bugged me since the product description says it does test TTL/CMOS http://www.mcumall.com/moreTOP853.htm
