Hi,
I have the following Setup:

MCUMall GQ-4x4 Programmer
USB Driver Re.3.0
Software Re. 7.25
running on
Win 10 Pro 1903 build 18362.476 64-bit
Now: Connected at USB 3.0 Gen 1 port
Additional power supply connected to the programmer

Question: Will I have a loss in speed performance when I connect it to a USB 2.0 port?
(The cable in the box is no USB 3.0 cable)

Best regards
Pirate-007

If the device you have does not support USB 3.0 (and I don't thnk the 4x4 does otherwisse the spec's would indicate that) then the USB port on your computer will become "backward compatable" - provided within the BIOS of your machine you enable that (USB 1.0 or 2.0)

If your machine does not require having that feature enabled (most newere BIOS system's don't) then the USB port (and any other associated with that particular bus) will be reduced to USB 2.0 speeds.

Simply changing the cable to a USB 3.0 cable does not make the device a USB 3.0 compliant device... now if you have a USB 3.0 compliant device and you attempt to use a USB 2.0 cable, you will notice issues (depending the operation) as the USb 2.0 cables cannot handle the various frequencies and speeds that the 3.0 cables are built and tested at.... so you can anticiapte unusual issues when doing that... in some cases, the computer will simply revert to USB 2.0 if the port detects various levels of errors......

Cheers
Rich
