Hi,
I am trying to program a PIC16F84A using the Enhanced JDM Programmer's ICSP connector. It keeps failing with "Verify failed at address 0000h!".
If I put the chip on the zif socket then it works.
The voltage on Vpp is about 13V while programming.
Vcc is about 4.6V
On the 16F84A I connected:
16FF84 Pin ------------ ICSP Pin
12 -------------------- Clk
13 -------------------- Data
4 -------------------- Vpp
14 -------------------- Vcc
5 -------------------- Gnd
Does anyone here have experience with this?
Thanks

You should get a newer pic, 16f628/script or something, the 84a is obsolete now.

Check your target board see if it needs more power to power it up.
