I have had my USB PIC Programmer for several months but only started programming recently.

I am using the 12F629 that came with the programmer.

I was able to successfully program a single program to it, but now I am not able to write anything new, and I am unable to erase the chip.

When I try and program, I get the following error.

20.16 KB

When I try to erase the chip i get the following

20.83 KB

One thing that I have found is that if I read what is on the chip, and then select program, it programs successfully. It is like I can't program anything new.

I have checked the forums for similar but can't seem to find anything helpful other than a post that my indicate that my programmer is damaged.

Any Help would be great.

Check code protection CFG bit. Turn off it to verify the chip.
