I have an Enhanced willem programmer (USB powered only)
In software (latest version) I chose the WILLEM icon and Device 27c512

I am having some difficulty reading and writing 27c512
I checked the voltages at the address pin test and got the
following pins with lower voltage:
A17-30 3.58v
A13-28 4.44v
A9-26 3.59v
A11-25 3.6v
3A-15 3.58v

Data out test:
0E-24 4.216V

All other pins are about 4.9V
Pin 1 Vpp reads correct voltages.

all ic's have the numbers scratched off. Is a schematic and
parts layout available for the advanced Willem USB powered
programmer? It is hard to trouble shoot without either.

When I choose a device the DIP switch numbers are reversed in
the latest software. ie my dip switches on the willem numbers 1-12
in the software they are listed 12-1

In the self test function info there is a typo;
it lists A2-PIN 12 ( should be A2-PIN 10)

The question is are the voltages indicative of a hardware problem?
If so which chips. It is easier for me to replace chips than it would
be to return the programmer and add expense.

BTW I sent some of my 12 new chips to someone and they checked out as
blank and they were able to program them. I was never able to read them as blank nor was I able to program the hex code into the 27c512.

After sleeping on it....
The solution is to not choose the Willem Icon. The correct program mode is PCB3B. Programmer worked fine.

Holy thread resurrection, Batman!

Ah, but I'm getting extreeemely similar results with my Enhanced, bought in August 2007.

I'm trying to read an SST 37VF010 (PLCC) with 0.97ja. The chip reads fine, but it won't verify (I invariably get errors around 0x400ish).

I've also tried a 39VF010: it seems to `stutter' in chunks of four bytes.

I've tried this on two different machines (an HP Pavilion ze4420us and a Gigabyte K8VT890-9), each running both Windoze XP and Wine.

So I just tried the Test H/W tab and got the following results:

A0->A23  0xFFFFFF
=================

Voltages wrt pin 16 (Gnd) / V

1	24.4 * 10^-3	32	45.1 * 10^-3
2	4.90 31	3.81
3	3.305 30	3.349
4	4.90 29	4.90
5	4.92 28	4.38
6	4.91 27	4.90
7	4.91 26	3.308
8	4.91 25	3.303
9	4.91 24	6 * 10^-4
10	4.91 23	4.89
11	4.91 22	0
12	4.91

Pins 3 (A15), 30 (A17), 26 (A9), and 25 (A11) appear to be ~3.3 V.
Pin 31 (A18) is ~3.8 V.
Pin 28 (A13) is ~4.4 V.

I tried these manually:
Pin 24 (OE) gives 4.19 V; Pin 22 (CE) gives 4.31 V.

The data pins seem to write okay.

I'll try other parallel port settings, but assuming there's no joy there, should I try to repair it or just see if DL is still taking tradeins?

Hi, I have Willem PCB3B (modded by myself to erase/write the W27E512 chips) that not read very well the 27C512 chips at all. On each reading I get different results, but the more strange thing is that without putting the 27C512 into the 32 pin socket, the Willem read not all '00' as it should be, but read randomly.
I will attach a file in .JPG format to show to you what I want to say.
I need some help to identify if there is a IC that can be blow or something else that affect the normal 27C512 readings.

Thanks in advance for all your replies and sorry for my bad English, kind regards, Stefano.
