Hi!

Iīm newbie with my willem and i have problems with the bin size. I canīt read my ecu chips correctly with my willem. I put the chip, read the chip, save the program and when i load the bin in rome ditor, when the bin load in rom editor have crazy numbers. But when i load any bin (web bins) with willem and program a new blank chip when i load the bin with my editor work fine, the willem programs mark 64k and my others bin work with 32k, i can change this in willem programmer? How i can read my ecu program?

Thanks!

The .bin file size must be exact as chip size.
After read the chip with programmer, you can save the buffer and load it again into willem software. You should see same checksum. Do a verify again to chip and it should be verified.

The PCB5.0 software is able to change the data in the buffer. You do not have to use other rom editor. Unless there are special function needed in other editor.

What is your chip is?

For this 27SF512, the rom file size must be 65536 byte long.

You can use the programmer to read the chip and save as a .rom or .bin file. Then use your rom editor to edit the data file.

Once you finished the editing, save the new rom file again and then use the programmer software load the new data file the program to your chip.

Then test the chip on your machine with the new file.

In software, set Offset(Hex) to 8000

Your data file should be 32K.

Yes. When you save, the software will save as data file for 27sF512. It will be 64K.

So, do not save. Why you need to save?

Steps for program the chip with the 32K data file:

1. select device 27SF512
2. Open the data file (32K)
3. set the offset (hex): 8000
4. write the chip.

Steps for duplicate the 27SF512 chip:

1. select device 27SF512
2. read the original chip
3. place a new chip and erase it
4. write the new chip.
