I need help with how to set up programmer to talk to a PIC16F876.I am very new to this and in need of help.

Programming steps:

1. Connect the programmer.
2. Start the software.
3. Select the chip type from the software.
4. Place the chip in the ZIF socket based on the software indication on ZIF socket.
5. Load the .hex file.
6. Click on "Program" button to program the chip.
7. If no error message, then the chip is progrmmed correctly.

hello

in the cellar i found some old eproms (27c128, 27c512 and a mc68705p) and would like to know if i can read/write them with my usb pic programmer and if with what configuration?

The programmer supports 27c128, 27c512. But it does not support mc68705p.
