Hello
i am trying to reprogram some bios chips,they are winbond 25x80.i can read them ok,but can,not erase or program them,the message that comes up after it try's to write to the chip is..error at 0x000000 Chip = 0xff buffer = 0x61,,,think its a write protect problem
i am using ver pcb50a
any thoughts anyone

Electronic id manufacture 0xef winbond
device code 0x3014 w25x80
status register 0xfc 1111 1100
to get the id to work pin 3 has to be disconected,you can then read the chip, |

HI
Still having no joy,i can read a 25x80 winbond, erase it,reprogram it,but i still get... error at 0x000000 chip=0x42 buffer=0x61 .the data it writes to the chip is not the same as the data in the buffer,i dont have a problem with MX25L800M chips,or SST25VF08OB chips,(thats with pin 3 not conected),all the id's read ok |

| i have noticed when you use autoselect chip,in the device select it reads the chip as winbond 25x080 |
