Hi, I'm a novice to using the GQ-4X v4, although I've used a Genius G540 for several years.

I'm burning 3 M27C160's for a friend. The first one I burned without performing a blank check.

One the 2nd chip, I clicked 'blank check' first and it failed. I proceeded to write the chip and verify it.

Is it still OK if the chip verified correctly? I'm assuming the GQ-4X writes over any non-blank sectors. But it will likely be months before my friend installs these chips.

What do you think? Will they work?

If the device is not blank and the verify is ok, its because the chip already contained the same data at least partially. You just re-burned the same bits like a double write.

You nevertheless should erase the chips before burning them.

Not necessarily, You can do a refresh as you do a double write.
