Did you check the chip datasheet? you may find compatible chips.

This is the chip Datasheet.
http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/75850/MICRON/MT28F800B5.html

The Part Number MT28F800B5WG-8 BET
Package :TSOP48
Manufacture code :0089 h
Devide ID :889D h
VCC =5V
VPP =5V

Prgrammer GQ-4X
Adaptor TSOP48 16bit adapter V2.0 ( adaptor attached with jumper setting)

Name="MT28F800B5B",ID="89889D",Class="TE28F160C3B",CodeSize="1048576",Category="FLASH",MFG="Micron",Speed="3",WVPP="5V",Adapter="ADP-042 TSOP48 16 BIT Mode",Message="Set the adapter to 5V jumper position.";

The programmer read out from the chip id (899D9D)
i done this with Skip ID Check,

Erase ok (skip ID Check)
Blank check ok (skip ID Check)
Write ok (skip ID Check)
Verify Fail!!! (skip ID Check)

Attached with Photo.

I am back from holiday.

Checked datasheet and the chip should work.

The ID "9D" seems OK in WORD mode. But the "88" is not read correctly in device ID. Check your chip pin contacting with ZIF adapter.
aslo, you need to avoid pin contact between adapter and the programmer, see demo video, jog the adapter on programmer after locked adapter to reduce the contact problem between adapter and the programmer ZIF:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCSaJcgfP9I

You can uncheck the ID in Auto area to avoid ID error message.But you need to confirm the read is working.

Are you able to confirm a good reading from chip? If you have second chip and you know the data of it, then read it to see if it can be read correctly.

The Adapter 100% have no problem with contact!!!
and the chip as well.

is the problem from your software device class not support this chip?

this is another try with pass device ID

Name="3MT28F800B5B",ID="89889D",Class="TE28F160C3B",CodeSize="1048576",Category="FLASH",MFG="Micron",Speed="3",WVPP="12V",Adapter="ADP-042 TSOP48 16 BIT Mode",Message="Set the adapter to 3.6V jumper position.";

But the result is i unable to write, erase at all. only can read.

From the datasheet, the 3MT28F800B5B should be supported. However, this chip is not in the supported list and not been tested on the programmer.

There are more than one factor can cause the write fail.

Can you confirm you can get 100% read correctly? This is important. If you can get 100% read correct, please let me know how do you know the reading is correct. Then the chip contacting will be good. Then we can do more other checking.

Are you able to send us a testing chip? I think that will be a faster solution. The airmail will take about a week to let us receive the chip and then we take 1-2 days to find out problem. Then we send back the chip with air mail. There are lot of users send us the testing chips and we found the solution for them.

Dear ZLM,

The Chip i program it by using other brand programmer of my friend,
and i load the source file and compare with the chip is 100% ok
so there is no error on reading.

for another try,i found another different class configuration,

Name="MT28F800B5B",ID="89889D",Class="TE28F320C3B",Category="FLASH",MFG="INTEL",Speed="5",CodeSize="1048576",Adapter="ADP-042 TSOP48 16 BIT Mode",Message="Set the adapter to 3.6V jumper position.";

this setting i can program the chip with most closest to the source file i loaded. only have estimate 10% error at verify.
normally what is the problem if the data shifted and verify error?

That is a good sign.

Sometimes the verification error is becasue of the reading error. The verification is comparing data in buffer and read from the chip.

Can you get the ID correctly on your new device line?

Do the verification errors always at same address? or randomly?

Hi EzoSat,

1) 16bit mode with adapter ADP-042
Name="MT28F800B5B*x16",ID="89889D",Class="TE28F160C3B",CodeSize="1048576",VCC="5V",Category="FLASH",MFG="Micron",Speed="5",Adapter="ADP-042 TSOP48 16 BIT Mode",Message="Set the adapter jumpers to VCC 5V and 28Fx00 position.";//by EZo

Result : ID detected 89FFFF
Erase Fail ( erase until 100% no responce for long time)
Blank Check with ID skip OK( Chip been erase from other programmer)
Writing Fail ( 0% no responce for long time)

ZLM,

can you order the chip and make a bench test?
so tiring to try this chip with GQ-4X since last Christmas.

Ezo
the chip i did not clean and i use another programmer UXP48 to verify and there is no contact problem.
but on GQ-4X there is intermitent device ID.
I brought other Chip which is in device list TE28F160C3B also have ID problem, intermittent alternative id show 8988C3 and 89C8C3.
is problem cause from The adapter ADP-042 or programmer itself?
Both adapter and GQ-4X i brought from MCU mall and post by Canada post.

ZLM,

when i do verify on the chip error happen at random address. the chip ID also intermittent

It is hard to say which one has problem. It can be either one. The random error is not easy to say which one is bad. Did you ever successfully working on any chip ? Also, try to use a 9V power adapter.

For MT28F800B5B i did try with and without 9V power adapter both also Fail using MT28F800B5B*x16.
The ID show intermittent. where i tried, using jumper 3.6V, the ID 89889D and FEFO show alternately.
If I shift the jumper to 5V ID will show 89FEFO(when Chip with data) and 89FFFF(Blank Chip).
Writing done but verify Fail!
( This is confirm good Chip i had verified again from another programmer)

And I purposely purchase a chip TE28F160C3B to test and the result is ID correct 8988C3, verify Ok, Reading Ok, Erase Ok and Writing OK.
seem like HW and adapter in 3.6V mode working fine, for this Chip. But not in 5V operation mode for MT28F800B5B

can you send me ISP adapter schematic?

I do not have exact schematic on this adapter. But I know the adapter all JTAG, ICSP and SPI ports can be mapped directly from ZIF socket. The only different is the ADP-056 added a 74HC244N signal buffer chips.

This device is not in the lest yet.

You need add following line into the devices.txt file.

Name="MT28F800B5B*PSOP44",ID="8971",Class="INTEL28F400BX-B",Category="FLASH",MFG="INTEL",Adapter="ADP-019 PSOP44-DIP32",RVPP="5V",EVPP="12V";

I use ADP-019 V1.0, maybe need new one V2.1 ? Now when I put new line ID is ok, but still not writing, always empty... and verify error... Others mcu is ok, like 29f400, reading, erasing, writing, but This one MT28F800 can't write...

try slower speed. put it to 0 or -1, -2.

If it still problem, then the chip may be a bad chip, change to another chip.
